Spooky fun with the Halloween Scene makes a fun Halloween card!

Hi Crafty folks!

I am back with another Halloween card (I still have many more to make too!)  For this card I used many items from the Spooky Fun Stamp set and the coordinating Halloween Scene Edgelits.

Halloween Scene

This card was a little bit of work, but I think I could re-create it much faster if I did it again.  I spent alot of time working out what I would want on the card and where I wanted things. I started by finding DSP that might appear to be a wall.  The brick in the Halloween Night DSP pack was perfect!  I sponged that to make it look spookier.  Then I used the Hearth and Home Framelit to cut out my window.  I then used the Halloween Scene Edgelits to cut out the Tree and the Pumpkins.  The bat and Ghost were cut/stamped using the Home Sweet Home Thinlit Dies and Sweet Home stamp set.  The Moon is from the Spooky Fun set and was stamped in Smokey Slate ink.  I then used So Saffron to sponge the color on the Moon.  I fussy cut the moon out so I could easily place it behind the tree just where I wanted it. I adhered all the items on a piece of Whisper White paper that was sponged with Wisteria Wonder and Smokey Slate to make it look like a spooky night.  Once I had that assembled, I used the spider web and Spider from the Spooky Fun Stamp set up in the corner.  Then I got out my Hardwood background stamp so I could make a floor board.  I wanted the Pumpkins to look as though they are sitting on the floor, did it work?  I finished up the card by added some Halloween Night Baker’s Twine and stamping the sentiment on the banner from the Number of Years Stamp set.  I also used the coordinating Large Number Framelits to cut out the banner.

I hope you like this card!  I think it may end up being one of my favorites this year!

Happy Crafting!

The New 2016 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog is Here!!

Yay! The day has finally come that we can share all the goodies from the Holiday Catalog! You know I am excited about the Halloween sets the most so of course my first card to share is a Halloween card!

SU Jar of Haunts and Ghoulish Grunge

There are so many fun Halloween sets in this catalog I didn’t know what to use first!  I finally settled on the Jar of Haunts set and the Ghoulish Grunge set.  Both of these are shown here!  I started making this card by using many of the stamps from the Ghoulish Grunge stamp set to make a spooky background.  This set is PERFECT for making things look spooky! Then I took the Jack-O-Lantern from the Jar of Haunts set and stamped that on Pumpkin Pie paper.  I stamped the leaf and stem on Old Olive.  This needed to be fussy cut out.  The stem and leaf were a little tricky but it is doable! After I had my pumpkin ready I grabbed some of the new Halloween Night Baker’s Twine.  You get Pumpkin Pie and Basic Gray when  you buy this.  I used the Pumpkin Pie, but I separated the twine so I could use the Black and Pumpkin Pie string unattached.  I then made loops with both colors until I liked the design.  It is always good to remember that you can use your supplies in unusual ways! My next step was to stamp the greeting.  This is from the Jar of Haunts set.  I decided to “fussy cut” the greeting to just to make it look a little less symmetrical.  I sponged the sides of the stamped background and the greeting.  I then took a piece of the new Halloween Night Designer Series Paper and layered that behind the stamped paper.  My card base is Basic Black.  I finished everything off with some of the new Halloween Night Enamel Dots.

Do you have your new Holiday Catalog yet?  No?? If not, then let me know and I will send you one.  Check out this fun video that highlights just a few of the new goodies you can get!

Isn’t it great? I love this catalog!!

I hope I get to share more goodies with you again very soon.

Happy Crafting!

Stampin’ Up! Seaside Shore stamp set is the perfect end of summer set!

Hello my craft friends,

So much time has passed since I last shared my creations with you!  Moving proved to be far more work than I realized, therefore my craft desk began to get some cobwebs!  I have cleaned those cobwebs off and finally sat down to make some cards!  Summer is going by so fast but I want to be sure I used the adorable Seaside Shore stamp set before summer finished.

Stampin' Up! Seaside Shore

There was some fussy cutting involved on this card, but it wasn’t too challenging.  I started with Sahara Sand as my background and then cut a slightly smaller piece of the same color so I could emboss that with the new Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Then I added a 2 1/8 inch strip of Calypso Coral and 2 inch strip of the fun By The Shore DSP.  Next is was time to stamp my underwater scene.  I chose to stamp the scene on a square piece of paper and then cut it out with my circle framelits.  I used Sahara Sand and a little bit of Crumb Cake ink to make the sand.  Then I used Mint Macaron to stamp the coral.  On a separate paper I stamped one fish in Dapper Denim and one fish in Mint Macaron.  I also stamped a shell in Smokey Slate.  All of these were fussy cut out and then added to the scene where I thought they would look best. I popped them up with dimensionals.  I also added some underwater bubbles using Soft Sky Ink.  I added another background Circle in Dapper Denim to make the scene pop.  Lastly, I stamped the Best Fishes Sentiment in Calypso Coral and cut that out with the Duet Banner Punch.  The sentiment is from the Jar of Love Stamp set and the outline of the sentiment is from the Thoughtful Banners Stamp set. You can’t see it well in this picture but I also added lines of Clear Wink of Stella along the fish scales, the shell and the coral.  It really gives it some pop in person!

Hope you like the card!

Very soon I will have some sneak peeks of the upcoming Holiday Catalog!  If you know me, you know there will a fair amount of Halloween cards I will be working on, so keep an eye out for those!

Stampin’ Up! Foxy Friends Stamp Set and Bonus Days sale!

I’m Baaaaack!

I am finally back at my craft table! I should start by saying that I probably shouldn’t be sitting at my craft table yet. My husband and I bought our first house together and we are busy unpacking.  What room did I unpack first? Okay it was the kitchen, but the craft room was second!! I figured I better make sure everyone could eat before setting up my fun spot.  😉 Anyhoo,  I am so happy I finally had time to play with some of the AWESOME new goodies from the Stampin’ Up! catalog.  The set featured today was a must have for me.

Foxy Friends

Sooo cute!  The cat is made using the Foxy Friends stamp set and matching punch.  It has been a big hit already and I knew I need it because I love all the critters it makes.  You could make a fox, squirrel, raccoon, cat and a skunk! There are probably more, but those are the ones I know you can make for sure.  The adorable paper I used coordinates with the set. It is called A Little Foxy DSP.  It has Calypso Coral, Smokey Slate and Pool Party as the primary colors.  For this card I actually used Basic Gray paper for my card base because I liked the way it looked.  I then used the Happy Heart Embossing folder on Calypso Coral paper.  Then I cut out banners using my Banner Dies in Pool Party and the cute Foxy DSP. I added a 1 inch strip of the DSP on the right and covered up the seam with some Pool Party ribbon. I must confess that this ribbon is retired. I have not yet had a chance to order the cute new pool party ribbon, but it would look just as good! I added the “I love you” sentiment from another new stamp set called Thoughtful Banners. This set has TONS of sentiments you can use in different ways. I will try to show off more of that set on another card.

I hope you like the card and this cute set.  I had a sweet little gray cat here at my house that gave me inspiration.  She always looks at me like there are actually little hearts over her head.  🙂

Now I can’t forget the exciting sale information!

Pop of Pink Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

I am back after another hiatus and ready to share a cute card with you. This card shows off some of the fun new Designer Series paper in the catalog, as well as a few cute stamps and dies.

Pop of Pink Card

All this color just makes me happy! To make this card I used the Pop of Pink Designer Series paper for my background. I layered that on Whisper White and made the card base Basic Black.  Then I embossed some pretty Gold Foil paper with the Large Polka Dots embossing folder and layered that over Whisper white. I cut out the adorable Swirly Bird die that looks like a swoosh in Basic Black. it really makes it pop over the gold.  I stamped the Hooray using a Stamp from the Confetti Celebrations stamp set and punched it out with my 2 inch Circle Punch. Lastly, I stamped little flowers from the Swirly Bird stamp set using Basic Black and Melon Mambo ink.  I added Gold Foil leaves to bring it all together.

I think anyone who receives this card will find it to be a mood booster for sure, and the sentiment makes it possible to be used for so many occasions.

Thanks for stopping by and I will keep trying to find time to make goodies to share as I can. My husband and I are in the process of moving so it is getting more challenging to find craft time these days.

Happy Monday!

Graduation Card with one last goodbye to retiring products

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you are having a fantastic memorial weekend and remember to say thanks for those that have served to help our country.

I have a card to share that was made with almost entirely retiring products. I wanted to just play with some of my favorite things before they are gone. It has also been a big weekend for graduates around here so it seems appropriate that it is a graduation card!

Hexagon Hive Graduation Card

This card was made for an avid soccer player and I made sure to use his school colors!  I hope he likes it.  He is heading off to college and will continue enjoying soccer while on a scholarship! To make this I used the Hexagon Hive thinlit that will no longer be available in just two days (unless they have some leftover supply). I cut out a circle in Basic Black cardstock and then used the Hexagon Hive thinlit to cut out Whisper White.  Then I pieced things together to look like a soccer ball. The stars were stamped using the Something To Say stamp set in Night of Navy.  The ribbon in the background is the 3/8 inch stitched satin ribbon. We will still have this ribbon available, but not in these colors. I made the banner by use the Hexagon punch which is also retiring. Lastly I added white candy dots to all the starts to give it some extra pow.  If any of these items look like something you want, go check out my website right away to see if you can still get them!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day!

Stampin’ Up! 2016-2016 Annual catalog Sneak Peek # 2 – Confetti Celebration!

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I HAD to share a birthday card because today is my birthday!!  I believe it is fair to say I am smack dab in the center of middle age as I turned 45 today.  Whew. Where did all that time go??? Well I am feeling pretty fortunate to have great friends, great family members and all my needs met, so I will celebrate all of those things today! I might also just close the door to my craft room and make sure I fit it some more craft time….. ;-).

Now let’s move on to the fun sneak peek I have for you.  This card showcases almost entirely new catalog goodies!

Confetti Celebration stamp set

Such a fun stamp set!  All the stamped images you see are part of this new stamp set called Confetti Celebration. Also, all the colors used are some of the new In Colors coming out soon.  I used Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy and Sweet Sugarplum. Looking at these colors just makes me feel festive!  The pretty ruched  ribbon is shown in Sweet Sugarplum and is available in all five In colors. It won’t be long and you will be able to order the products in the new catalog.  I can’t wait!

I am off to see what else I can create since I took the day off from work today. Happy Monday to you!
